| All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination |
| Description |
The All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Exam is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education for admission to 15% All India Quota seats for Medical/Dental colleges run by central government, state government and municipal or other local authorities in India except in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
The AIPMT examination is conducted in 2 stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Final Examination
Only candidates who qualified in the Preliminary examination are allowed to take the Final Examination

| Eligibility Criteria |
- The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
- The applicant should have attained the age of 17 years as on the 31st of the December of the year of admission
- The applicant should have cleared the Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a level as prescribed by the NCERT for 10+2 level
- The applicant, if belonging to General Category, must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. For applicants belonging to schedule castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes the minimum qualifying mark is 40%.
- Applicants of Indian Nationality educated abroad seeking admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English upto the 12th standard level with 50% marks and their equivalency determined as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.
